From April 25-May 2, the 2010 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2010) takes place. China, already the world's second largest automotive market, is expected to soon become the largest auto manufacturing and consuming country in the world.
The last year has seen more multinational car companies making their way into the Chinese market. In 2006, China became the second largest automotive market and the third largest automobile manufacturing country in the world. In the first quarter of 2009, the sales and output of vehicle volume reached 2.68 and 2.56 million units, up 1.91 and 3.88 per cent respectively year-on-year.
Following 2008's successful show, which drew in 680,000 visitors and where 2,100 exhibitors launched 55 concept cars and seven world debuts, the bi-annual show has become one of the top auto events in the world.
To provide better service during this year's show, the Beijing municipal government have also invested ¥600 million on transportation upgrade, building parking lots and environment protection.
