Thailand tees off new tourism campaign
Published: July 6, 2009

In a bid to promote Thailand as a premiere golfing destination, top courses, luxury hotels and tour operators have joined forces to promote "Golf in a Kingdom: The Thai Golf Experience."

The Tourist Authority of Thailand (TAT) has partnered with eight premium golf
properties, tour operator Golfasian and six of the country's premier hotels to form "Golf in a Kingdom: The Thai Golf Experience." According to TAT, some 3.2 million visitors arrived in Thailand the first quarter of 2009, a 19 per cent decrease from the previous year.

"Golf in a Kingdom" is also banking on the arrival of golf aficionado and former US President Bill Clinton, as he accompanies wife and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting in Phuket on July 16-23.

From the hill country of Chiang Rai to the breathtaking beaches of Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand, "Golf in a Kingdom: The Thai Golf Experience" takes in some of the most lush and varied terrain around, such as the new Banyan Golf Club in Hua Hin, the Chiang Mai Highlands Golf & Spa Resort, the Muang Kaew Golf Club and the Santiburi Chiang Rai Country Club.
