Roddy Yu began his career in the advertising field in accounts' servicing in 1976, and worked with a couple of advertising agencies before joining the Sing Tao Limited as Advertising Manager.

In 1983, Yu was appointed Associate Director of Marketing and Business Development of Sing Tao Limited and was responsible for all the advertising sales for the company's Chinese newspapers and magazines.

Yu was also a freelance writer for many leading magazines in Hong Kong on motoring, travel, investing and many others. Before joining Hong Kong Tatler, Yu was with mingpao.com.
