HONG KONG BUSINESS MAGAZINE HIGH-FLYER AWARDS FOR 2008
The 4th annual Hong Kong Business High-Flyer awards were presented in Hong Kong yesterday.
The Awards, which recognised 29 Hong Kong enterprises for their performance in their respective industries – retail, logistics, insurance, hospitality, and transportation, among others – handed highest honours to AIA Pension & Trustee Ltd, which received the Hong Kong Business Most Outstanding Enterprise Award for its industry leadership, outstanding business practices and strategic capabilities in the field of mandatory provident fund and pension services.
>Mr Peter Crowe, Managing Director of AIA Pension & Trustee Co Ltd ; Mr Paul Cheng, Chief Executive Officer of Autotoll Limited ; and Ms Rebecca Kwan, General Manager of Lan Kwai Fong Hotel @ Kau U Fong were among the special guests at the fourth annual Hong Kong Business High-Flyer Awards held last night by Hong Kong Business and Edipresse Group.
Other winners included DB Schenker, Ricoh, HSBC Insurance(Asia-Pacific)Holdings, Eu Yan Sang, and Sa Sa. All awardees received a High-Flyer trophy from Edipresse-Asia CEO and Hong Kong Business Publisher Barrie C. Goodridge and are featured in the Hong Kong Business High-Flyers Annual 2009 special issue.
In congratulating this year's winners Goodridge said: “Tonight we celebrated with some great companies from just about every category of business. 2008 was a great year for all of them and we are happy to be able to celebrate their success”
When asked about the economic outlook Goodridge added: “It's cold out there…and I'm not just talking about the weather! But Hong Kong is a resilient place full of ambitious and talented people. As we have in the past….we will grab this economic cycle as an opportunity and turn it into profit. That's what we always do and that's what I'm very confident we'll do again.”
